Lessons from All the Bright Places that We Can Learn for Mental Health Awareness
Have you watched that movie, right? If not, you can watch that movie on Netflix anytime. Actually, this is my second time watching this movie and I want to write the lesson that I got from that movie. We all know that people nowadays are more aware of mental health. There are a lot of campaigns on social media about mental health awareness. Our mental health is matters as our physical health. There are some notes that I have written about the lessons learned from that movie.
1. We have the ability to resilient from difficulties and toughness
Yeah, every day we face a lot of difficulties, sometimes we can pass, but sometimes it feels harder than usual, and sometimes it can be a traumatic moment we don't want to remember. The important note you have to remember when you had a tough day is "it's okay not to be okay". It's cliche but it real. It is okay to feel the way you feel, your feelings are valid, and don't ignore them. Just accept that feeling without denial and let them go slowly. It will take several times to heal but it will pass as long as you are not giving up.
2. Do something that scares you
Sometimes that feeling is actually just on our minds. It's not real. So, if you have something that scares you too much, just try to face it slowly. It's okay to fail at your first trial, but you should keep trying again until you realized that your scares are not real. It will be okay.
3. Go on an adventure
By traveling, we will get many experiences and sights that we have never seen before. We can found our self again, be wiser, more grateful about the life that we have, and collect the moments that we can remember for the rest of our life. Finch taught us from the movie "that even the ugliest of places can be beautiful, as long as you take the time to look and It's okay to get lost sometimes, as long as you find your way back"
4. There are a thousand capacities in you
Even you don't think so, the capacities have been build in you. You just need to realize that a thousand capacities are made you stronger to face the world bravely. Improve yourself and make your dream come true.
5. Avoid labeling others
We didn't know what others struggling for precisely. Just be kind to others can save their life, somehow. Treat others people like you want to be treated by others. We are all humans and we can be a "brightful place" to help others.
6. Seek professional help if needed
We definitely not immune from mental illness, so if you need professional help, just find it. Because being able to ask for help is a sign of your strength, not weakness. Don't afraid to ask for help, because your life really matters.
I think there are many other lessons that we can learn from that movie. If you have any other thoughts about it, just let me know and we can learn about it together. I hope we will always be a person that always healthy mentally and physically. Don't forget to always be kind to others!
