18 Again (K-drama): Wish time could be turned back

Has anyone watched the drama that just finished last week? The story is really interesting, about a 37yo man returning to youth at 18. How come? It's just fiction, right? Yes, it's not a real story. It's just an imaginary story that makes this drama more interesting. But, I'm not going to talk about the review of this drama or telling the story. You can watch it in your spare time and see what can be learned from it.

So, I'm going to talk about something we can learn from the 18 Again drama from my point of view. You guys can add your point of view in the comment section, so we can learn from any point of view. Before that, can I ask you a question? You can answer in your heart and reflect it to yourself.

"Regardless of your age, what would you like to do if you were younger?"

I think we all have a different answer depends on our interests, our dreams, our background, and our personal experience. And maybe, if we were younger we want to fix our mistakes in the past or do things we've never tried. But, to be young again feels really impossible as an ordinary human. Hahaha.

The important things from that question are not about we can back to be younger, but the reflection itself. Without realizing it, we've been reflecting on our life. However, we can't back to fix our life in the past. So, through the story from 18 Again drama we can learn about...

1. Realizing and fully appreciating what we have

We will never truly feel lost until we do, so before we lost anything that we have, we should really appreciate it. Sometimes, we think too much about what we don't have rather than being grateful for what we already have. We don't always have a second chance. So, don't let us regret it.

2. It doesn't matter if we are a little bit away from the problem we are facing

Sometimes, we can't think clearly when we are facing a problem. But it's okay to take a step away from that problem for a while, so we can see the problem differently and more objective. It's not mean we flight from the problem, but we analyze the problem and trying to solve it.

3. Listen more than speak

From that drama, we learn about how to make someone speak the truth and speak about what they really want. By listening to them without any judgemental. We know that Go Woo-young tries listening to Si-a and Si-wo as a friend, and Go Woo-young realizes something that he didn't know when Go Woo-young acts as Hong Dae-young or their father.

4. Build a strong bonding with your children early on

Continuing with point 3, we can learn that basically children will open up to their parents if their parents would listen to them without being judgemental. So, if we are parents, we can try to build closeness with our children to have a strong bonding between entire families. As parents, we must also know when we can act as parents and when we can act as friends of our children.

5. Support your children's dreams

Sometimes, we as parents are too busy directing our children to do this or that. Until we forget that our children also have their own desires. By listening to what they want to do or what they have planned, we can understand that our children grow up well. As parents, we still have the power to directing our children if there is something that doesn't fit, but listens to them first before we speak about our point of view, and speaks softly to them.

6. We need to care for love even though we are old

As marriage ages, problems come and go, and when love is less passionate when we are young, we must continue to care for love with our partner no matter what. Starting from improving communication, spending time together, giving a gift to each other, appreciating our partner, and we can also do many things together with our partner, can make our love stronger to each other.

It's natural to feel bored with our partners or when things don't go their way, but don't use that as an excuse to separate. We can take a step back to think everything clearly and start to realizing appreciating our partner before we really lost it. Because, we don't always have a second chance, isn't it?

Those are some of the things I learned from 18 Again drama. It seems there are still many things we can learn from that drama. For more details, you can watch it yourself and learn from it. If you had watched, feel free to add what you have learned in the comment section below.

Thank you for reading until this line, I'm sorry if there is any mistake, it's purely from me. Because I'm still learning about everything including my mistake. So, see you at the next learn!
