What we can learn during the pandemic for our self-growth?

It seems we were not doing anything during the pandemic. Our activities are limited and we have to survive at home during the quarantine. Besides that, some people got fired and become jobless, some people lost their families suddenly, and we have our own struggling during this situation. But we can learn something from it. This though situation taught us to be more adaptable, more creative, and more self-reflective.

Here are the things that I got to learn in the pandemic situation, I hope these things can help us to be more understanding about ourselves and improves our self-growth:

1. Learn to understand about self

I learn to be more caring to myself than before. I feel I have to hear the honesty of myself about what I feel so far, like my anxiety, my insecurities, my flaws, and fears that sometimes unfounded about other's acceptance and other's opinions about myself. Actually, I was trying to dealing with those fears for a long time period, but the healing takes time. So, from this pandemic situation, I learn to understand myself more than before.

2. Self-acceptance

Yeah, like what I have said before that I struggle with other's opinions for a long time. I always trying to be accepted by others, so I did whatever others want. Of course, it makes me feel that "I am fake" but, I just trying to fitting myself into others. But, I realized that the desire to be accepted by others starts when I can't accept myself yet. So, this situation makes me more time trying to accept my whole self, not only my strengths but also my weaknesses.

3. Self-love

We already know that many campaigns about self love on our social media nowadays. It makes me happy actually because it can improve self-awareness. I try to learn how to love my self too during the pandemic situation, I try to see what actually my body and my soul feel and what should I do then. This situation is very challenging so we should be gentle to ourselves.

4. Managing emotion regulation

Limitations experiences during this pandemic indirectly also affect our emotions. So, I always accept whatever emotion I'm feeling and named it. That way, I can know exactly what I really feel and what emotions are coming up. I won't neglect it and make those emotions are valid and it's okay to feel that way.

5. Improving self-confidence

For me, during this pandemic, it's a good time to take a closer and clearer at myself. By understanding myself, accepting my strengths and my weaknesses, giving more love to myself, and managing the emotion can help me so much to improve my self-confidence. It's truly a perfect time to take care of ourselves more often than before.

We all know that this though situation leaves us feeling overwhelmed and helpless, but we can also use this time to improve, and we decide!
